Defence Ministers of Serbia and Cyprus meet



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides and the Cypriot National Guard Commander, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
  Minister Stefanović said he was glad to meet with his Cypriot counterpart and emphasized close relations between the two countries. He also spoke about the continuation of cooperation in the field of military industry and the joint training and exercises of the Serbian Armed Forces and the National Guard of Cyprus.

Minister Petrides emphasized that Cyprus, as an EU member, supported Serbia’s efforts to protect international law and was committed to preserving stability in the region and implementing UN resolutions.
 
Minister Petrides talked about the quality, efficiency and reliability of the weapons systems and military equipment delivered by the Serbian Defence Industry and the Jugoimport-SDPR company, and about his units' top-notch training in handling those systems.
 
Minister Stefanović invited Minister Petrides to visit Serbia in the coming period.
