Minister Stefanović puts new scanner into service at Military Medical Academy

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited today the MMA’s Institute of Radiology and put into service a new, modern 64-slice CT scanner donated by the United Arab Emirates. Stefanović thanked the doctors, medical staff and all the people working in health care for their hard work.
The Minister of Defence noted that the military health care personnel had put in a superhuman effort to help every patient in the Covid system, but they had also received all military and civilian patients in need of medical assistance and care 24 hours a day at the Military Medical Academy.

 - All patients have received the best medical care, and none of the staff have spared themselves. They never complained about working at night, on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, or about their health being at risk ... They worked devotedly and showed what the military is. That is why it is important to show that we care about these people - said the Minister.

He pointed out that it was therefore important to continue equipping military health care, increasing the employees’ salaries and hiring new staff.

 - With the help of President Vučić, we received the most modern scanner donated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, which started working at the Military Medical Academy today. This is the third scanner at the Military Medical Academy, which will significantly help and speed up the work, but also improve medical assistance provided to the most seriously ill patients - said Minister Stefanović, noting that the installation of the third scanner at the Military Medical Academy would increase the number of military and civilian patients examined.
The scanner will also be used for giving diagnoses to Covid-19 patients who are being treated at the Karaburma Military Medical Centre which will soon receive a mobile scanner of its own.

The Minister of Defence also visited the MMA’s Emergency Centre and the new laboratory that was opened in order to carry out all necessary analyses at the MMA more efficiently, which according to him, would provide patients with the opportunity to get results without waiting and receive the best medical care as always.
