Bureau for Coordination of Security Services holds a session



Today, after the regular session of the Bureau for the Coordination of Security Services held in the Serbian Presidency Building, Head of the Bureau and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, said that the security situation in the Republic of Serbia is stable.

He pointed out that our services had been looking at the ways to protect Serbia and its citizens more effectively against new global threats for which other security services were also preparing, especially in the field of cyber and hybrid threats that were increasigly present, not only in the European countries but in other countries as well.
The session, chaired by Minister Stefanović, was attended by the Director of the Security and Information Agency, Bratislav Gašić, the Director of the Military Security Agency, Đura Jovanić, Police Director Vladimir Rebić, and Deputy Director of the Military Intelligence Agency, Dejan Pajić.
 
The current security situation regarding potential terrorist threats was also discussed at the session. It was concluded that the services had done a lot within their competencies to eliminate those threats in the previous period, but that they would continue to work intensively on reviewing and monitoring the situation regarding soldiers returning from foreign theatres and possible extreme radicalization.
 
According to Minister Stefanović, all security services are actively working at the moment to minimize potential threats and eliminate any security risk to the citizens of Serbia.
