Full-dress rehearsal for exercise “Joint Action 2020” on Pešter

A full-dress rehearsal for tomorrow’s live-fire tactical exercise “Joint Action 2020” was performed today in the temporary exercise area “Pešter”.

- Today we saw what the Serbian Armed Forces have been preparing for all these months, but also all these years. Such armed forces are not made in one day, they are the result of patient, persistent work, and a huge enthusiasm and great motivation of all members of the Serbian Armed Forces - said the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin who, together with the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, attended a full-dress rehearsal for the exercise that will be carried out tomorrow in the temporary exercise area “Pešter”.
As Minister Vulin pointed out, the state of Serbia can be proud of these people and “it can rest assured that, as long as there are such people and such a military, peace will rule for a long time to come”.

- Peace in the Balkans is long-lasting only when Serbia is powerful and when Serbia has such a strong military. Today, everything went according to plan; all units fulfilled their tasks in the best possible way. We expect the same tomorrow and we hope to make Serbia happy tomorrow with the image of proud, organized, modern and equipped armed forces - said the Minister of Defence.

General Mojsilović said that “complex actions and procedures at tactical and operational levels have been shown” at today’s rehearsal.

- I am fully satisfied with what I have seen today, considering that the joint action of the Air Force and Army units was performed very accurately in terms of place and time, and the effects of target engagement were quite impressive. We can also be proud of the capabilities that have not been visible or demonstrated so far, and as of today they are entering not only the long-term defence system development plan, but also the tactical level where there is a kind of cohesion – the Chief of the General Staff pointed out.
- We, soldiers, are extremely proud of what we have at our disposal and what the state has provided for us, and I would like to express my gratitude to the Minister of Defence, the Ministry of Defence and the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander for everything these armed forces have received, and with these exercises and this way of work, we are sending a message, expressing our commitment to provide security to our country and we are showing that every dinar invested in the Serbian Armed Forces is invested in the security and safety of our citizens - General Mojsilović pointed out.

About 2,800 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence, more than 150 combat and non-combat vehicles and systems and about 40 aircraft are participating in the exercise "Joint Action 2020". Among them are a large number of modernized assets and assets developed by the defence industry, which will engage jointly for the first time in one such exercise.
A part of the capabilities of the units of the Serbian Armed Forces, Air Force and Air Defence with an Army battle group and the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade will be shown. This is one of the larger exercises considering the number of engaged units as well as the engagement of new assets that the Serbian Armed Forces have been equipped with in the previous period.

The live-fire joint tactical exercise "Joint Action 2020" will be carried out tomorrow at 12 o'clock in the temporary exercise area "Pešter", and will be broadcast live on the First Channel of the Radio Television of Serbia.
