Minister Vulin: We have preserved neutrality

The Government of the Republic of Serbia made a decision on today’s session to suspend all military exercises and military activities with all partners in the next six months.

After the Government session, the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said that the Republic of Serbia is under tremendous and undeserved pressure from the European Union.

- The pressures that make no sense and are not grounded in our decisions or our actions, or even in reality, are the result of hysteria which determines political decisions and directions of great and powerful countries. We are required to suspend the planned military exercises with Belarus at the cost of abandoning our European future and at the cost of even greater pressure on our policy, but also on our people in Kosovo and Metohija and Republika Srpska - said Minister Vulin.

He emphasized that we are a neutral country by the Decision of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. In order to preserve the position of neutrality, avoid or at least reduce the consequences of intensified attacks on our country, our politics and our economy, the Government of the Republic of Serbia made a decision on today’s session to suspend all military exercises and activities with all partners in the next six months, without exception.

- In the next period, we will not participate in any exercises or military activities either with the NATO or the CSTO, either with Russia or the USA, either with China or the European Union, either with the East or the West. Our participation in peacekeeping operations will be specially considered and if needed, suspended – said Minister Vulin.

- The process of equipping and strengthening our armed forces will not be stopped, and we will work to increase our combat readiness harder and more persistently than ever. This is the only way to preserve neutrality and this painful decision obliges us to rely solely on ourselves and our own strength – emphasized Minister Vulin concluding his statement with the following message: Long live the Serbian Armed Forces, Long live Serbia!
