Cadets of the Military Academy and MMA’s Medical Faculty make a donation to University Children’s Hospital Tiršova

On the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the foundation of the Military Academy, cadets of this military educational institution and their colleagues from the MMA’s Medical Faculty collected 107,000 dinars to aid the University Children’s Hospital Tiršova.
Today, a delegation of cadets, together with Colonel Slobodan Đukić, PhD, Head of the Department of Social Sciences of the Military Academy, visited the Children’s Hospital, where they were received by the director of that health institution, Siniša Dučić, M.D.-Ph.D.

Dr Dučić thanked for the donation and pointed out that he was pleasantly surprised.

- These are young people who had a good idea in these difficult times, to collect money on their own initiative to help the sick children. It is a nice gesture which speaks a lot about them and confirms that there are a lot of young people who think positively – said the director of the University Children’s Hospital and expressed hope that such young people will help their country in the best way in the future.

Colonel Slobodan Đukić pointed out that the cadets’ humanitarian aid is another in a series of activities organized on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the foundation of the Military Academy.
- This is a very significant act, whose goal, in addition to being humanitarian, is to develop cadets’ moral values, humanity and care for those who cannot take care of themselves, and all those who need help – said Colonel Đukić.

Cadet Saša Radenković pointed out that he was glad that he had the opportunity and honour to hand over the donation, together with his colleagues, to those who need it the most.

- We collected the aid in a short period of time and showed motivation and desire to participate in a very positive thing. We wanted to show that young people can help, in accordance with their financial situation, and make a joint contribution with small donations. The most important thing is to send a message to other young people to be more active in the humanitarian field – said Cadet Radenković.
