Modern uniforms for members of the Serbian Armed Forces

In the past three years, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces paid special attention to providing modern uniforms that meet the specific nature of tasks and military needs, so now all members of the Serbian Armed Forces can say that they are equipped with the best uniform tailored to their needs.

For each professional soldier, three sets of uniforms have been provided - two sets of M-10 uniform, one set of M-93 uniform, at least one pair of summer and one pair of winter boots. In the development of military uniforms and equipment for the armed forces, special care is taken to meet all the tactical and technical requirements of the users of clothing and equipment.

The new models of locally produced uniforms have shown excellent results in the laboratory and in the field, and the goal of all the novelties is for the members of the Serbian Armed Forces to be satisfied with the uniform and proud of it. The level of protection of members of the Serbian Armed Forces has been raised to the highest level - from camouflage protection to protection of the body from environmental influences, heat, cold, etc. in order to provide the members of the Serbian Armed Forces with optimal conditions for carrying out tasks, and for them to feel good, comfortable and satisfied in his new uniform.

Special novelties are the uniforms of reconnaissance, commando and parachute units, which have an important role in the execution of special tasks. For the first time, the end users participated in the production of these uniforms by implementing their experience in its design, and the set of uniform consists of 26 parts that are compatible with other combat equipment and weapons. Unlike the M-10, the uniform provides scouts, commandos and paratroopers with better protection of the body in extreme weather, because it is extremely important for them to protect the body from negative atmospheric conditions and to have the freedom of movement and speed of reaction at the same time.

A new M-19 uniform was also made for members of the Military Police. It has 28 parts and can be worn in a non-combat and combat variant, which is combined with a set of protective equipment and weapons. Members of the Military Police wear the uniform on all terrains and in all weather conditions, especially in urban areas when the recognisability of members of the Military Police is required. The uniforms of military policemenhave a different designation, with the aim of making them different from other members of the Serbian Armed Forces due to the exercise of authority. For the needs of the pilots and flight crew, the most modern flight equipment was procured - pilot coveralls, boots, gloves and active underwear.

The set of equipment for pilots and aviators includes two pairs of pilot coveralls, two pairs of boots, a pair of gloves and a set of active underwear. At the beginning of this year, after the amendment to the Rulebook and the introduction of the pilot cap in the sets of uniforms for pilots and aviators, all pilots and aviatorsreceived two pilot caps –a summer and a winter one, which are worn with the coveralls. The domestic industry has produced clothing items that are part of a set of uniformand that can be combined so that they can be used in all seasons. In the past three years, more than 30,000 sets of M-10 field uniforms and coveralls were procured, and among other things, more than 50,000 camouflage T-shirts and more than 20,000 clothing items intended for the replacement of worn-out clothing items.

In the previous period, items from the M-10 field uniform set, such as the M-13 camouflage bag for commanding officers, the M-12 synthetic belt, the M-12 camouflage belt and the M-12 field coat, were also introduced. In the following period, M-13 camouflage coveralls for combat vehicle crews made of flame resistant fabric and of reduced flammability will also be procured. The coveralls are worn with or without undergarments depending on the outside temperature. The introduction of coveralls will improve camouflage and functional characteristics compared to the one-color two-piece uniformthat combat vehicle crews use now.

It is planned to include in the set of uniform a military camouflage tent, an individual M-13 intended for accommodating one member of the Serbian Armed Forces with equipment and a hand weapon, made in a camouflage pattern of lightweight materials that allow quick assembly or disassembly, as well as external covers of M-70 tent which will have improved characteristics in terms of camouflage, increased vapour permeability, water resistance and tear resistance compared to the previous grey-olive covers.

The development and procurement of uniforms is a continuous process, and the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to take into account the needs of their members, to equip them with the best and highest quality uniforms, in order to create conditions for them to easily perform tasks.
