Visit to the sniper team of the Serbian Armed Forces in preparation for the International Army Games

Minister Vulin: For years now, we have managed to beat even the best armies in the world

The Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by the Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, visited the team of the Serbian Armed Forces today in the area of the “Orešac” Military Complex, where they are preparing for participation in the International Army Games and the “Sniper Frontier” contest, which will be held in the Republic of Belarus, at the training ground in Brest.
According to Minister Vulin, members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade began the final stage of preparation for the participation in the Army Games.
- For years now, we have managed to beat even the best armies in the world and we always make it to the winner’s podium. We won gold medals for two consecutive years and I hope that we will carry on the tradition – said Minister Vulin.

He emphasizes that the purpose of current preparations is not only to prepare the top snipers of the Serbian Armed Forces for the contest, but also to prepare them for their daily duties.

- Every minute in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade is used for training, preparations, and professional development.  Every person who becomes a member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade specializes in something. We will show these young men to the world, hoping, expecting the best from them, as always. They are ready to defend their country. They always defend it. They are at the disposal of their country, their Supreme Commander, Serbia, every day, every minute, never asking what task is before them. Thanks to such people, the Serbian Armed Forces can face any challenge – Minister Vulin said.
The leader of the sniper team said that this will be the third consecutive participation of the sniper team of the Serbian Armed Forces in the “Sniper Frontier” contest held in Belarus, as part of the International Army Games, under the auspices of the Russian Federation.

- This is our third participation. Relying on our enthusiasm and experience, we hope that, this year, we will live up to the expectations and win the gold medal again, as we did in the previous two years.  We are honoured to have the opportunity to compete against one of the strongest armies in the world and thus improve our capabilities and training to perform all the tasks within our mission.

Special importance is given to the training of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, and various types of content are included in their training and provide the opportunity for each sniper to develop a wide range of skills.

The preparations of the snipers for the participation in the International Army Games started on 3rd February and each stage of the preparations includes both military-professional and psychophysical preparations of members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
