Minister Vulin: Members of 72nd Special Operations Brigade are equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment and they do not in the least fall behind their colleagues of the world

- Members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade are being trained incessantly. Not a single day goes by without them conducting a certain form of training. Owing to great investments in our armed forces, and owing to great investments in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, we were able to execute today’s exercise. To conduct this exercise you required a helicopter, and new ropes, suitable equipment, and diving equipment as well for the divers who jumped out of the helicopter - said Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin today after having attended the training of members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade in the area of Kajtasovo lock where the divers carried out landing operation from helicopter on a water surface, landing operation from a boat at full speed and a vertical manoeuvre applying fast rope technique.

Speaking about the importance of equipment, the minister of defence reminded that many decades had passed since we had bought not only new but the most modern equipment.

- Members of 72nd Special Operations Brigade are equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment and they do not in the least fall behind their colleagues of the world. We have always had the best men, and it is only right for our best people to have the best equipment - Minister Vulin stated.

Commander of the Special Operations Battalion “the Gryphons” Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Kužet underlined that on that day his unit had demonstrated the training for “execution of a subversive activity” through three points.

- We demonstrated divers’ landing operation from a helicopter on a water surface, divers’ landing operation from a boat at full speed on a water obstacle, and a landing operation of members of the Special Operations Battalion the “Gryphons” applying “fast rope” technique. All special units’ actions are founded on two specific effects that we want to achieve - surprise and stealth. With that we achieve an additional effect - we insert team members in the fastest and most effective way possible thus preventing exposure of the members, increasing stealth and consequently achieving surprise. We repeat that until that becomes automatic action and our moto is “the more sweat in peace, less blood in war” - said Lieutenant Colonel Kužet and sent a message to the citizens of Serbia to remain assured, that the military is well trained, particularly the members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and Battalion the “Gryphons” and added that they would surely execute every task assigned to them.

On the location of Kajtasovo lock, members of the Special Operations Battalion the “Gryphons” executed the divers’ landing operation from a helicopter on water surface and vertical manoeuvre using fast rope technique in joint action with the members of Air Force and Air Defence.

After the demonstration of the training, Minister Vulin attended a presentation of climbing and diving equipment used by the members of Special Operations Battalion the “Gryphons”.

Today’s demonstration was attended by Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan.
