Minister Vulin: As President Vučić ordered, Covid hospital is going to be installed in the shortest time possible

Today, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited the site where preparatory works are in progress for construction of a facility for accommodation and treatment of patients suffering from Covid-19 infection in the military compound “Zemun Ekonomija” on Batajnica Road.
During today’s visit, the minister of defence had an opportunity to personally make sure that the Military Construction Establishment Belgrade had taken all measures to clear the terrain.

Minister Vulin pointed out that, by executing the order of Supreme Commander of Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, the Ministry of Defence had provided a suitable location from the land fund used by that Ministry.

- Our engineer units have already started demolition of existing facilities and work on clearing and preparing this area for the construction of Covid hospital. As President Vučić ordered, Covid hospital is going to be installed in the shortest time possible and this is an opportunity to demonstrate how efficient we are and how far ahead we plan - Minister Vulin underlined.

According to him, no one could prepare for the pandemic, but with the experience that we possess, we know what we lacked and what we lack now, and we know that we have to be ready for what waits in the future.

- Of course, no hospital will save us, but we will be saved solely by personal responsibility and consistent adherence to all the measures stipulated by doctors - Minister Vulin concluded.

The site in question is located in the vicinity of two major lines of communication, Batajnica Road and motorway, and it covers a surface of 1 hectare and 58 ares. The location leans on excellent infrastructure support of town water and sewer installation, electricity grid and other installations. Tactical and technical requirements for the construction of the hospital are being prepared by Military Health Department in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The visit was also attended by State Secretary Bojan Jocić and Head of Infrastructure Department Colonel Radmilo Kravić.
