Head of Military Health Department Major General Uglješa Jovičić underlined that upon the order of Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin they had been tasked to set up a military field hospital within 24 hours next to General Hospital in Novi Pazar.

- We immediately started with the execution of that task and in cooperation with members of the Second Army Brigade they erected tents and placed beds. Medical teams consist of 40 health workers from military health establishments. We are now at the point of putting the military hospital to use – says General Jovičić.

- We will treat all the patients from the area of Novi Pazar, Sjenica and Tutin. We have plenty of experience, so we will execute our tasks properly and on time. We will remain here as long as it is necessary and we will provide maximal medical assistance. The Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces, and military health system have always risen to the occasion. It is important that we work quickly, we have our equipment and good cooperation with Director of General Hospital. We are here together in our fight against the virus – stated General Jovičić.
According to Head of Military Medical Academy Colonel Miroslav Vukosavljević MD, as of today, “the heart of the MMA beats in Novi Pazar as well within General Hospital, just like it beats in the same rhythm in the building of the MMA in Banjica or in Military Hospital in Karaburma”.

- It was a great pleasure to observe the faces of the people when we arrived. They received us with great exhilaration and hospitality with hope that things would be better. I hope that we will together with all health workers of our country and our hosts, manage to put under control this great pestilence – the corona virus – said Colonel Vukosavljević adding that the medical staff would remain until the end “until they defeat the virus”.

Commander of the newly established field hospital in Novi Pazar Lieutenant Colonel Predrag Krstić says that the hospital is manned with personnel of all required profiles.
  - At this moment, the hospital is envisaged to receive 100 patients, with possibility to expand that number. It was set up to have a “red” and “green” zone, with clearly designated one way direction of movement, all aimed at personal protection and self-protection of the medical staff and appropriate treatment of the patients - Lieutenant Colonel Krstić explains and adds that there are 40 doctors and medical technicians engaged in the hospital.
