Today, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited 75 members of the Guard of the Serbian Armed Forces who will tomorrow participate in the Victory Day Parade in the capital of the Russian Federation to mark 75th anniversary of victory over fascism in the Second World War.

Minister Vulin will attend the Victory Day Parade at the invitation of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergey Shoygu. According to Minister Vulin, our members of the Guard are well, and they are healthy, “and they have made great efforts, they were quarantined, they exercised and prepared and they will rise to the occasion”.

- Tomorrow, they will show what the descendants of the victors in the Second World War look like. I greeted them today on behalf of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, and I wished them a lot of success and to show once again that the Serbs are a people who appreciate freedom above all, and who have always been of the right side of the world, and that they have always been a people who unmistakably chose freedom and victory. Wherever there are the Serbs, the freedom is there, and the victory is there – Minister Vulin stated.

Deputy Commander of the Guard Colonel Željko Gavrilović said that the members of that unit had completed preparations and that they were ready for the Victory Parade.
- The men are extremely motivated, aware of the confidence shown, and they will give their best in terms of drill and demonstrate in the best possible manner that we are prepared to present our armed forces and our state in the best light – Colonel Gavrilović emphasised.

Besides the minister of defence, our members of the Guard were visited by Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Petar Cvetković and Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Milan Ranković.
The Victory Day Parade is going to be held on the Red Square, at the place where the Red Army celebrated the victory over fascist Axel powers back in 1945.
