Members of the Russian expert teams visited “Defence 78” Exhibition

Today, the members of the expert teams of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which help prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease and its suppression, led by Major General Mikhail Chernyshov, visited the "Defence 78" exhibition of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the Belgrade City Museum.

The delegation of the Russian Armed Forces was guided through the exhibition by Colonel Duško Šljivančanin, the Head of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans.

The exhibition made a strong impression on the members of the delegation, who were able to see during the tour how much suffering and devastation the people in this area experienced during the 1999 NATO aggression.

At the end of the exhibition tour, General Chernyshov said that "the impressions are overwhelming."

- A country that fought while practically besieged, and which had no chance of winning, did not surrender and managed to win in some sense. It did not give up its territory, but it paid with the lives of its soldiers and its children - said General Chernyshov.

He then wrote the following in the Museum Guest Book:

“Eternal glory to Serbian soldiers, remember everything that happened in the past. Forever".

The “Defence 78” exhibition, whose author is Dušan Jović, is a project initiated by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and it is a multimedia, interactive exhibition which shows for the first time video and print materials that have not been shown to the public so far.

The exhibition is divided into eight parts and its art is based on authentic artefacts created in 1998 and 1999. The exhibition shows in a unique way the heroic defence of the country during the NATO aggression which lasted for 78 days.
