Donation from “PPT Namenska” Company and the Embassy of the United Kingdom to the Ministry of Defence in the fight against coronavirus

The “PPT Namenska” Company from Trstenik and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Serbia have donated 5,000 protective visors to the Ministry of Defence - a necessary piece of protective medical equipment during the ongoing fight against the coronavirus. “Namenska” from Trstenik donated 3,000 visors and the British Embassy 2,000.

The protective equipment donation contract between the Ministry of Defence and “PPT Namenska” was signed by the Head of the Supply Section of the Military Healthcare Department, Colonel Rade Guberinić and the company director Anđelka Atanasković, while the contract between “Namenska” Trstenik and the Embassy of the United Kingdom was signed by Director Atanasković and the UK Defence Attaché to Serbia, Colonel Nik Ilić.

Colonel Guberinić thanked for the donation on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Military Healthcare Department, pointing out that the donation would provide better protection for our health professional and soldiers in the field.

As Colonel Ilić pointed out, it is a "small, modest donation to the Serbian Armed Forces in difficult times".

- We are glad that we used the money to buy protective visors so that members of the Serbian Armed Forces are protected while doing their job. This is a Serbian product, we did not bring it from abroad, and as the President of Serbia said, it is difficult to find protective equipment on the world market now.

Therefore, we are extremely pleased that we invested the money right here to help the Serbian Armed Forces and the Serbian people - Colonel Ilić said.
According to Director Anđelka Atanasković, Namenska from Trstenik has started producing visors to help the country in this difficult situation.

- We made 5,000 protective visors, 3,000 of which we are donating to the Ministry of Defence while the Embassy of the United Kingdom is donating 2,000. We tried to complete the job as fast as we could. This time we made simpler visors that have the same use and the same value, and we are cooperating with the Rector of the University of Kragujevac, Nenad Filipović in manufacturing a different version of plastic made by the injection moulding machine, but it is a more time-consuming process - said the director of "PPT Namenska" Anđelka Atanasković.

Bearing in mind that visors are not typical products of “PPT Namenska”, this company is making every effort to develop the necessary protective equipment to fight the coronavirus pandemic and contribute to the wellbeing of our citizens. In addition, “PPT Namenska” is trying to start the production of the currently most wanted product in the world - respirators.

Today's signing of the contract and a tour of the “Namenska” plant in Trstenik were attended by the Head of Defence Technology Department, Major General Mladen Vuruna, the Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Siniša Kresović, and Deputy Head of the Department for International Military Cooperation, Colonel Miroslav Glišić.
