Gold and bronze medals for the shooters of the Serbian Armed Forces at the European Championship
Members of the Military Academy Sports Unit won a gold and a bronze medal in air pistol discipline at the 50th European Shooting Championship, held in Wroclaw, Poland. Military employee Jasmina Milovanovic, with the Serbian women’s national team consisting of Zorana Arunovic and Bobana Momcilovic Velickovic, won the title of the European air pistol champion, while military employee Dimitrije Grgic, with the men’s national team consisting of Damir Mikec and Dusko Petrov, won a bronze medal in the same discipline.
The women’s team competed for a gold medal with the host of the championship, Poland. Serbia maintained the lead until the end of the competition and after a three-year break reclaimed the title of the European champion. The Serbian men’s national team won a bronze medal competing against the German national team.
Serbia finished the 50th European Shooting Championship with five medals won - two gold, one silver and two bronze medals and thus won the second place, just behind the Russian national team which finished the competition with seven medals won.
