President and Supreme Commander Vučić meets Admiral Fraser





The President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, received Vice-Chief of Defense Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Admiral Timothy Fraser today to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and security.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković.

President Vučić said he hoped Serbian-British relations would reach a level of genuine partnership and that high-level exchange of visits would contribute to stronger and richer ties between the two countries in all areas. He expressed satisfaction that during the visit of Admiral Fraser, a plan of bilateral military cooperation, containing 33 joint activities, would be signed.

The two interlocutors emphasized that the strategic goals of defense co-operation in the forthcoming period are to strengthen military-educational, military-medical and military-military co-operation.

Admiral Fraser said the British side was prepared to offer assistance in the education, professional development and training of members of the Serbian Armed Forces. It is suggested that joint military exercises of the Serbian Armed Forces and the United Kingdom Armed Forcesbe conducted.

President Vučić and Admiral Fraser also discussed the situation in the region. “Serbia will always be a solid support for a peaceful and stable Balkans,” President Vučić said.
