Anniversary of death of Field Marshals Živojin Mišić and Petar Bojović and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm marked




A delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Major-General Ilija Todorov, deputy commander of the Joint Operations Command, laid wreaths at the New Cemetery in Belgrade, today, in marking the anniversary of death of Field Marshals Živojin Mišić and Petar Bojović, and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm.
 
Wreaths were laid also by Zoran Antić, state secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, who led the state wreath-laying and honouring ceremony, as well as representatives of the City of Belgrade, descendants of prominent military leaders and representatives of associations dedicated to nurturing traditions, and citizens.
 
Field marshals Živojin Mišić and Petar Bojović and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm took part in Serbian-Turkish wars (1876–1878), Serbian-Bulgarian War of 1885, the Balkan Wars and the First World War.
 
All three died in Belgrade – Živojin Mišić on 20th January 1921, Petar Bojović on 19th January 1945, and Army General Pavle Jurišić Šturm on 14th January 1922.
