Improvement of Capabilities of the Army




Today, in the Military Club in Niš, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović received report on results of analysis of the state, operational and functional capabilities of the Army in 2019.

The reporting was led by the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, and during the report the present reviewed the achievements and proposed measures for further enhancement of the state of the Army.
 
At today’s analysis, it was concluded that during 2019, the Army had successfully executed all tasks, improved the training of the active and reserve component, as well as the equipment with arms, military equipment and materiel.
Relative to the Army, among the most important activities executed in 2019, the ones that were singled out were exercise “Begej 2019” and Demonstration of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia held in Niš on the occasion of the Day of victory over fascism in the Second World War.
 
At today’s analysis, the 41st Infantry Battalion was proclaimed the best Army unit in the previous year, while the best base in the Ground Safety Zone is the Base “Trmka”, and the best Army guard service in 2019 was the guard service of the military compound “Rvati”. On that occasion, the Army Commander, General Simović presented travelling flags and plaques to Commander of the 41st Infantry Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Saša Vučković, Lieutenant Milenko Stepančević from the Third Army Brigade, and Senior Sergeant First Class Marko Čeparković from the Second Army Brigade.
The analysis, held in the Military Club, was attended by the members of the Board of the Minister of Defence and extended Board of the General Staff, commanders of the brigades and autonomous battalions of the Army, and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
