7th CISM Military World Games in China finished





The 7th CISM Military World Games were completed by lowering the CISM flag and extinguishing the Olympic fire at the official closing ceremony in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

On the ninth, last competition day, our marathon runners and triathletes performed at the 7th CISM Military World Games in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The greatest success was achieved by Corporal Đuro Borbelj by setting a new record of the Serbian Armed Forces in the marathon with 2:29:23. The previous record was kept by Colonel Branko Bošković since 1995.   

Captain Nevena Jovanović achieved a personal record in the marathon, and Sergeant Igor Vuković achieved his best time in triathlon.
 
In the overview of our performance at the 7th CISM Military World Games we highlight the three bronze medals won by brothers Mate and Viktor Nemeš in wrestling Greco-Roman style and Sanja Vukašinović in shooting from a rifle at 50 meters.

Out of the better results of our national teams, we would like to stress four 5th places, one 8th and one 9th place. Judoist Bojan Došen entered the semifinals, but due to injury he had to give up and ended the competition in 5th place. 5th place was also won by Tijana Bogdanović in the taekwondo, Milica Emini in the 100-meter hurdles and swimmer Velimir Stjepanović in the 400-meter freestyle, while he finished eighth in the finals dolphin style. Žarko Ćulum won 9th place in judo.
The Serbian Armed Forces team had 41 competitors who competed in 10 disciplines: wrestling, taekwondo, orienteering, judo, boxing, swimming, athletics, parachuting, shooting and triathlon.

In terms of the total number of medals won, the Serbian Armed Forces, with three bronze medals, ranked 35th out of 109 participating countries, and ranked 54th in terms of medal ranking.
