Minister Vulin: Relations between Serbian and Russian ministries of defence at the highest historical level

Relations between the ministries of defence of Serbia and Russia are at the highest historical level. I can only thank President Putin and President Vučić for the way in which they reached the military-technical agreement and the way in which it is being implemented. We implement everything what we agreed in a way as we agreed. Our two countries have reasons to be proud of the relations between our ministries. This year, the number of planned activities in the framework of bilateral military cooperation has significantly increased”, said Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin who had a separate meeting with his Russian counterpart Shoigu during the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security. This has been the sixth meeting between the respective defence ministers of Serbia and Russia since Aleksandar Vulin took over the defence sector.

The ministers agreed that participation in joint exercises is significant for the armies of both countries, and especially pointed out that the relations of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces are best strengthened on the ground.

Minister Vulin expressed concern about the establishment of the so-called “Kosovo Armed Forces” and thanked Minister Shoigu for the consistent support of the Russian Federation to Serbia.

Minister Shoigu accepted the invitation of Minister Vulin to visit Serbia. His arrival to Belgrade is expected in 2019.
