He said that the Government of the Republic of Serbia closely monitors the current politico-security situation in Venezuela. Condemning the foreign interventionism in the manner of resolving internal political issues of a sovereign country, Minister Vulin sent a message that Serbia had never agreed with winning the power on the streets, and that it only recognised the will of the people demonstrated in elections.

Deputy Minister Gil expressed his satisfaction with his meeting in the Ministry of Defence, stressing that Venezuela perceived Serbia as a true friend and that both countries advocated for the respect of human rights. He confirmed the consistent support of Venezuela for Serbian position regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and he pointed out that the Government of Venezuela advocated for a dialogue as the only way to achieve a permanently sustainable solution.

Regardless of geographical distance, Gil underlined that both sides should aspire towards establishment of mechanisms for development of cooperation in all the areas of common interest.
