Minister Vulin: Serbia is peaceful, safe, protected and safeguarded as long as its armed forces are there




 
In the eve of Orthodox New Year, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović, accompanied by the Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Major General Duško Žarković, visited on duty forces of the AD system in Pančevo garrison.
 
- To all those who today celebrate the arrival of the New Year I wish personal and family happiness, I wish them good health and a lot of work, and to all Serbs, wherever they celebrated, I wish them to be happy, to be proud of their Serbia and to spend the year ahead of us working and fighting for Serbia. Only united in preservation of vital national interests could we be worthy of our ancestors and leave as heritage a peaceful, safe and strong Serbia to our descendants – Minister Vulin said.
 
According to him, the Serbian Armed Forces are ready, technically equipped, its members are highly trained and highly motivated and their morale is undoubted.
 
- They love their country, and it is precisely because of that, Serbia is this night as well, like it will be on every other night, peaceful, safe, protected and safeguarded as long as its armed forces are there – Minister Vulin sent the message.
 
Chief of General Staff General Mojsilović, after visiting a rocket battery which is permanently on combat duty of the air space protection, wished a happy new year to all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces of Orthodox denomination, wishing them good health, personal, family and soldier’s happiness.
 
During the visit, Commander of the 250th AD Rocket Brigade Colonel Tiosav Janković informed the minister of defence with the basic tasks of the brigade and on duty rocket battery in the AD system.
 
- The rocket and self-propelled AD rocket batteries from the 250th Rocket Brigade are on their regular tasks of control and protection of sovereignty of air space above the Republic of Serbia. That task lasts 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day and requires permanent serviceability of materiel and supreme competence of personnel. We do have such people and such materiel in the Brigade and each day, we are ready to execute our task – to protect the air space of the Republic of Serbia – Colonel Janković stressed.
 
Following the tour, the continuation of the visit was dedicated to conversation with the members of the on duty rocket battery.
