Minister Vulin’s Meeting with Ambassador Chepurin



Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin met today Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia Alexander Chepurin. The topic of the meeting was current security situation and enhancement of cooperation in the field of defence.
 
During the conversation with Ambassador Chepurin, Minister Vulin expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the wholehearted support to the efforts of the Republic of Serbia made at the UN Security Council session in order to point to illegal establishment of the so called Armed Forces of Kosovo, and in respect to the requests for disarmament of that illegal armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija.
 

Ambassador Chepurin reiterated that the Russian Federation offered its full support to the Republic of Serbia and its efforts regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
 
During today’s meeting, the interlocutors established that the relations between Serbia and Russia are at very high level, and that in the previous period there had occurred even the additional strengthening of defence cooperation, which goes shoulder to shoulder with overall and political relations of the two countries.
 
The development of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation is contributed by personal relation between the two superior commanders Aleksandar Vučić and Vladimir Putin. Minister Vulin expressed gratitude to his Russian colleague, Sergey Shoygu for his personal contribution to enhancement and strengthening of military technical cooperation.
