The “Days of Belgrade” is held to mark two important events in the long history of the Serbian capital - on 16th April 878 when, in the letter of Pope John the Eighth, the name of Belgrade was mentioned for the first time, and on 19th April 1867, when Prince Mihailo Obrenović received the keys of Belgrade fortress from the Turks, by which Belgrade was returned to Serbs symbolically as well.
