Minister Vulin: We cannot forget the NATO aggression, we cannot even forgive

- NATO aggression against Serbia is a terrible crime, a crime for which no one has been punished, a crime against a free, sovereign nation, a people who, with its history and life, did not deserve such a terrible crime. We cannot forget, we cannot even forgive - Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said after the wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial in front of “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” Clinical-Hospital Center, comemorating the Guard soldiers and patients killed in that facility during the NATO aggression in 1999.

Minister Vulin said that he did not know whether the pilot who bombed the hospital was punished for that and that he probably was not, or whether his commander, who had given him an order to bomb the hospital, was punished for that.

- I do not know if anybody who participated in the NATO aggression over the Serbian people was punished for what he did - I am pretty sure he was not. As long as no one is punished, as long as someone does not humanly repent the death of these people in the hospital, as long as someone does not at least humanly repent all these thousands of deaths during the NATO aggression in Serbia, we will not be able to say that everything is behind us. We cannot forget, we cannot even forgive. It has been nineteen years that we are still recovering from the consequences of NATO aggression, we are still renewing what has been destroyed, we are still trying to heal the wounds, we are still trying to forget, and we cannot forget and we cannot forgive - Minister Vulin said.

“Only the generations that come after us will deal with the consequences of the NATO aggression, with everything that was thrown into our land, into our water, into our air. Serbia looks into the future. We will try, do our best to make the world around us better, more beautiful, more just, but we will not be able to forget NATO aggression and we will never be able to forgive - Minister Vulin said.

The wreath at the monument in front of “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” hospital was also laid by Mayor of the City of Belgrade Siniša Mali, as well as a delegation from “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” hospital.

The Mayor recalled that 19 years ago NATO aggressor hit the hospital in Belgrade and that seven Guard soldiers and three patients were killed.

- In this way, we pay tribute to them and keep memory not only of them but also of those who were tragically killed and lost their lives during this aggression. Today Serbia is different, and today it is fighting for its future and future of its children, economically, building new highways, new kilometers of railroads, new factories and creating new jobs, in order to leave those war destructions behind us - Mayor Mali said.

At the place of the suffering of the Guard Brigade soldiers, in front of “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” hospital, the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces that laid wreath included Major General Milomir Todorović, Serbian Armed Forces Guard Commander and Lieutenant General Đokica Petrović Training Commander.

The wreath-laying ceremony in front of “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” Clinical-Hospital Center is one in a series of events marking 19 years since the aggression on our country.
