Infrastructural Donation for the MMA Helipad



Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Director of Civil Aviation Directorate Mirjana Čizmarov signed today, at the Military Medical Academy, an Agreement on Donation for infrastructural renovation of the helipad on that military-medical establishment.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin thanked the Civil Aviation Directorate and Director Čizmarov for esteem and appreciation they showed towards the Serbian Armed Forces.

-Today, the Serbian Armed Forces has received 25 million dinars which will be used to enhance the capability to help our users, but not only the users but everyone in need of help and anyone who is transported here – the minister of defence said adding that, after the donation, the transport of the ill and injured would be carried out in the swiftest and safest way.

Minister Vulin pointed out that the facility in question would have rooms for the staff, equipment and patient, and that the helipad would be in keeping with the highest world standards.

He expressed the satisfaction with the fact that the donation was presented on the day when the Serbian Armed Forces marked the Day of Air Force and Air Defence, noting that it was precisely that infrastructural donation for the MMA helipad that was the proof of how much “we care for all our people in the Air Force, and all those who will in those helicopters transport some future patients”.

- This is the proof and indicator of how much the armed forces is appreciated, respected, truly loved, and how important part of this society it is. Each dinar invested in the Serbian Armed Forces is a dinar invested in the standard of each of us, it is a dinar that is invested in security of each of us, and it is a dinar invested in a better life of each and every member of our society, and not only of a member of the Serbian Armed Forces – Minister Vulin said emphasising his satisfaction with the fact that Serbian society demonstrated in all its segments how much it appreciated and loved its armed forces. 

Underlying that it was a great honour for her to confer the donation on behalf of Civil Aviation Directorate for the construction of the infrastructural facility on the MMA helipad, Director Čizmarov noted that it was the only helipad in the Republic of Serbia wih an operational function necessary for the transport of the injured and ill to the MMA and other health protection facilities in our country.

- The Directorate, Ministry of Defence and the MMA will continue the successful cooperation in the field relating to the improvement of infrastructural facilities, primarily of civilian aviation, which will, of course, be used for other purposes as well, meaning transport and providing care to the injured and ill in the entire Serbia – the Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate said expressing hope that as soon as the following year, a facility would be open for which construction the donation was given.

The ceremony of signing the Agreement on Donation was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Bojan Jocić and Acting Head of the Military Health Department Colonel Uglješa Jovičić and Acting Head of the MMA Colonel Miroslav Vukosavljević.

The donation worth is 25 million dinars and it is provided by the Civil Aviation Directorate and it is to be used for the construction of facility on the helipad that will enable the MMA to have a helipad in line with the highest European and world standards.

The helipad at the MMA is used for the transport of seriously ill patients, and the last reconstruction was conducted two years ago and it included placing entire lighting installation which enabled using the helipad for landing by night and in low visibility conditions.
