Vulin: The Kosovo Armed Forces is only possible if the Security Council and the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are abolished
Commenting on the statement by Hashim Thaci that Pristina will form its armed forces by the end of this year, during today's visit to the Krnjača asylum seekers accommodation centre, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin recalled the Resolution 1244 and explained that the Serbian List will not allow this:
"Resolution 1244 is more than clear, the only armed force that can exist in Kosovo and Metohija is KFOR. Under these conditions, it was signed and under these conditions an Agreement on the Termination of Hostilities was signed and thus enabled the international community to come to the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. There is nobody who can convince us and make us accept that the Kosovo* Armed Forces can exist in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. There is no such organization, there is no such force, there is no political pressure for which we will agree to create an armed force in our territory, an armed force that will be under someone else's command, an armed force that will threaten central Serbia itself and ultimately the Serbs in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. With ministers from the Serbian List in the government in Pristina, it will be difficult to do so, and I can tell you right now, that is impossible. Even when we signed the Brussels Agreement at that time Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić received oral guarantees from the NATO Secretary General that no armed force would be able to cross the Ibar River or move north of the Ibar without the consent of mayors of the Serb municipalities. Only under this condition, the signing of the Brussels Agreement was accepted. This word will not be violated, it cannot be violated, and citizens of the Republic of Serbia can be peaceful and safe just like citizens worldwide. The international community must know - international law will be respected and it will be respected so that KFOR is the only armed force in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, and no other armed force can exist until Resolution 1244 is abolished until the United Nations is abolished, until the Security Council is abolished and the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are abolished. It will not be possible. "
