Migrants Will Not Be Returned to Serbia from the EU
Asked to comment whether the decision of the European Court pursuant to which Slovenia and Austria can send refugees and migrants back to Croatia, meant that they could be returned to Serbia where they had been registered first, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, stated that when Serbia became an EU member the Dublin Agreement would refer to Serbia.
-Since we are not EU member, the Dublin Agreement does not apply to us and that is something that they will have to resolve by themselves within the EU. Just like they often say that we cannot get some things because we are not an EU member, and consequently it is not legally possible for us to be a part of various treaties and agreements, so now as well we are not the part of the EU hence the agreements that they sign among themselves do not apply to us. Migrants enter the territory of the EU, and some of them leave the territory of the EU through our country and go to the EU again. We can hardly be responsible in any way, and as for the behaviour of our bodies, we will continue being humane, but we will not allow anybody to return those people in our territory by force – Minister Vulin stated.
