The Minister of Defence Visited Prva Petoletka



The Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević together with the State Secretary Nenad Nerić, and Assistant Minister for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović visited “Prva petoletka namenska” in Trstenik where he met with the management of one of the most successful defence industry factories of then Yugoslavia and of today’s Serbia.
 
At the meeting with the management and representatives of the union, the Minister was informed that the “Prva petoletka namenska” had been working highly successfully, in contrast to previous twenty years, and that all the obligations towards the state, meaning taxes and contributions, were honoured and all the workers regularly paid.
 
Pointing out that the revenues in the past year exceeded 137 million euros, the Director General, Anđelka Atanasković said that very good financial results were actually even better, since around three million euros had been invested in the modernisation of production assets. Minister Đorđević was also informed that the company had entered into very favourable agreement during the recent Exhibition of Arms and Military Equipment in Abu Dhabi, and that the cooperation with the Ministry of Defence is getting better and better, which resulted in signing important contracts that would allow opening new working places and carrying out the work in two shifts.
 
- This is the fourth visit by the Minister of Defence to our company in last two years, which speaks volumes about our results and progress. We have a lot of work; we have signed numerous new contracts both with buyers from abroad and with the clients from our country. The contracts with the Ministry of Defence will enable our company, by means of implementation of new projects for the Serbian Armed Forces, to become а leader in the unification of defence industry of Serbia, which represents a strong motivation for our workers as well, said Director Atanasković.

After the meeting with the management of “Prva petoletka namenska”, the Minister toured the production halls and assembly line where some of the new products were presented to him along with testing devices for landing gears, tyres, brakes and other equipment and the capacities of technological capabilities of IT Centre.
