The Russian Ambassador Conferred Decorations to the Members of Serbian Armed Forces



At the celebration organised to mark the Homeland Defenders’ Day, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia, Alexander Chepurin conferred decorations to members of the Serbian Armed Forces for strengthening the friendship and military cooperation, as well as to the participants in providing humanitarian assistance in Syrian town of Aleppo.
 
The decorations were awarded to Navy Captain Milan Konjikovac, Colonel Jovica Stanojković, Colonel Stanko Milić, Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Petković, Lieutenant Colonel Nebojša Milić, Major Saša Jovanović, Ensign Major Dejan Tasić, Staff Sergeant Nenad Kocić, Corporal Ljubiša Ivanović and Sanja Peruničić.
 
The reception organised on the occasion of the 23rd February – the Homeland Defenders’ Day in the Russian Embassy, was attended by the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Governmental Ministers Zoran Đorđević and аnd Zorana Mihajlović, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubiša Diković, Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of cultural and public life, and Ambassador Chepurin said that Russia and Serbia have a good cooperation including military cooperation and he stressed the following:
 
“Today our two countries have excellent perspectives in the field of military and military technical cooperation. Tomorrow, these perspectives will become reality, Russia will continue supporting Serbia”.
 
Chepurin added that artistic ensemble Alexandrov, which lost almost a half of its members in a plane crash last December, was going through a revival and even the next day it would hold a concert in Kremlin and that the performance of that ensemble is expected to be in Belgrade in the autumn.
