Landing of manpower and materiel within Slavic Brotherhood 2016 exercise
 
At the Kovin airport, today, as part of the multinational exercise Slavic Brotherhood 2016, members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Serbian Armed Forces carried out a part of demonstration of the training level. The demonstration included execution of special landing operation, securing the landing area, execution of helicopter landing, landing of main forces, forming the operational deployment and march of auxiliary and main forces.
 
Десантирање људства и технике у оквиру вежбе „Словенско братство 2016“The demonstration was attended by Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and local governments.
 
Slovensko bratstvo2016After the exercise, Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Special Brigade, Brigadier General Zoran Velickovic, pointed out that today, in complex weather conditions, members of the three armies successfully executed tasks in an anti-terrorist operation.
 
- Today, we could see the performance of special landing operations using 'wing shaped' parachute, helicopter landing, landing of main forces for carrying out anti-terrorist forces with materiel, as well as connecting of the materiel and the personnel and the formation of the operating deployment for the execution of further tasks – General Velickovic stressed, adding that in the coming days they will continue to carry out the tasks planned within the framework of the Slavic Brotherhood 2016 exercise tomorrow, at the Oresac training ground where they will carry out the planned shooting, and the main part of the exercise has been planned to be conducted at the Pasuljanske livade training ground on Wednesday.
 
As an exercise planning officer, General Velickovic assessed today's work as excellent, and, according to him, such exercises will continue to be conducted in the context of international military cooperation for the purpose of the security of our country and peace in the world.
 
- In adverse weather conditions, landing of three BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicles and more than 80 of our members was performed from a military transport aircraft, and securing of the operation on land was carried out by Tachyon drone – Major General Oleg Olegovich Polguyev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, underlined assessing tasks of the special-purpose units that participated in this task as excellent.
 
Десантирање људства и технике у оквиру вежбе „Словенско братство 2016“Colonel Oleg Ivanovich Peichevsky, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Special Operations Command of the Armed Forces of Belarus, thanked the leadership of the Serbian Armed Forces for enabling them to participate in the Slavic Brotherhood 2016 exercise.
 
- The leadership of the exercise has assessed the activities of the Russian, Belarusian and Serbian forces as excellent, brave and strong, which is very important for our cooperation – Colonel Peichevsky pointed out adding that this was a very valuable experience for the members of the Belarusian Armed Forces with a view to conducting this exercise next year in Belarus.
 
Slovensko bratstvo2016During today's demonstration, Ilyushin II-76 aircraft, helicopters MI-8, MI-17, Gazelle and Gamma were employed, as well as infantry fighting vehicle (BVP-80), armoured reconnaissance vehicles (BRDM-2), armoured personnel carriers (BMD-2), police fighting vehicles, 122 mm self-propelled howitzers, drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and other means.
 
Multinational exercise Slavic Brotherhood 2016 is being conducted from 3rd to 6th November 2016 at Pasuljanske livade combined service training range, Oresac direct fire engagement system, and Kovin and Batajnica airports. The tactical exercise involves 212 members of Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, 56 members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and 450 members of the Serbian Armed Forces. 
 
This is the continuation of cooperation between the Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces which started with the exercise SREM 2014, which was conducted in Serbia.
