Defence Minister and the Mayor planted seedlings in front of Vasa Carapic barracks



Министар одбране и градоначелник засадили саднице испред касарне Васа ЧарапићDefence Minister Zoran Djordjevic, Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali, Mladjan Silobad, Executive Director of Partizan NIS Basketball Club, and Vojislav Stankovic, Director of "Ekostar pak" have planted today three seedlings of Catalpa Mint tree in front of the Vasa Carapic barracks in Banjica.
 
Specifically, the City of Belgrade has donated one seedling for each three scored by Partizan basketball players during the Serbian Super league last season, and according to the total score, within the "Trees for threes" campaign, 87 seedlings were provided.
 
Minister Djordjevic thanked Partizan NIS BC and the "Pak Ekostar" company who are carrying out the aforementioned action, which will enhance the working and living space for the members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Министар одбране и градоначелник засадили саднице испред касарне Васа Чарапић- We are continuing with improving the conditions in which the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces live and work, and we will continue with this also in the period to come. We are grateful to the City of Belgrade that has recognized our need for that – Minister Djordjevic said.
 
Mayor Mali thanked the Partizan basketball players on this initiative, and the Ministry of Defence for their cooperation, using the opportunity to call and support all those who have similar ideas, which will make our capital more beautiful place to live.
 
- As early as in 2011, Belgrade adopted the strategy of afforestation and since then, more than 650 hectares of land was forested, and there are more than 100 thousand new plants in our city – Mayor Mali said.
 
Defence Minister and the Mayor of Belgrade visited the works carried out within the Vasa Carapic barracks on the construction of sports facilities, which are the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the City of Belgrade.
