Monodrama Milunka Savic - a reminder of the heroism

On the stage of the Guards Club in Belgrade, last night, monodrama "Milunka Savic" was played, organized by the Department for tradition, standard and veterans and Balkan Art Festival. The role of Milunka Savic, before a packed audience, was interpreted by Vesna Stankovic.

It is a monologue which deals with the life of the Serbian heroine, the participant in the Balkan wars and the First World War, who entered the history as the woman with the highest military decorations. One-hour long performance is a part of the project of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans marking the centenary of the Great War. The plan is that during October this performance, as well as "Lina, harder than a stone", be played in military clubs in Novi Sad, Nis, Kraljevo and Vranje.

In gratitude for the promotion of the Serbian history and true values, Head of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans, Colonel Sladjan Ristic, presented the actress, Vesna Stankovic, with a gold-plated replica of Karadjordje’s star.
