Defence Minister extends greetings on River Flotilla Day



I send my best wishes to all members of the river units celebrating 6th August – the day of the branch.

Launching the first Serbian river warship Jadar near Belgrade in 1915 was the official beginning of the establishment of the Serbian River Flotilla. Today, you are proudly continuing a tradition of more than a century.

In the past year, thanks to good training level, you showed readiness to respond to modern challenges, to protect the natural resources on inland waterways, as well as outstanding results in the field of increasing the efficiency of command of the river units, their training, education and professional development of personnel of this branch of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Being convinced that you will continue to professionally perform your duties and that you will worthily continue the tradition of the Serbian Armed Forces river units, I congratulate you on your holiday.
