Members of the Serbian Armed Forces off to the International Army Games



Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have departed for Moscow from the Nikola Tesla Airport, today, in the early morning hours, to take part in this year's International Army Games in the Russian Federation. The teams of the Serbian Armed Forces will participate in three competitions – Open Waters, Clean Sky and Tank biathlon.

Total number of 95 pontoneers from the River Flotilla will compete in the discipline the Open Waters discipline on the Oka River near the town of Murom, while 14 members of the Air Defence Artillery Missile Unit will take part in the Clean Sky competition at the training ground near the town of Yeysk. The team of 20 tank drivers will participate at Alabino training ground, near Moscow, in the most attractive discipline of the games - Tank biathlon.

The leader of the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces and a member of the main Judicial Commission is Colonel Dragan Bojic, and the leaders of the competitors’ teams are Lieutenant Colonel Sasa Todorov – tank crew, Commander Dragoljub Jankovic – pontoneers and Major Miroslav Krstic – AD Artillery Missile Units.

Members of the River Flotilla, artillery crews and missile operators are to participate in the International Army Games for the first time, while the tank crew, which has many years of experience, won the bronze medal last year.

International Army Games will be held from 30th July to 13th August at the military training grounds in Russia, and the first part of the competition will be held in Kazakhstan. More than 130 teams from 20 countries around the world will take part in it in 23 different competitions. This year, nine countries will be in the role of observers.
