Minister of Defence meets Israeli Ambassador
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic, has received Israeli Ambassador Joseph Levy today in a farewell visit. They discussed the enhancing of cooperation in the field of defence.
Djordjevic and Levy agreed that current cooperation could be significantly enhanced and intensified and that the planned meetings at the ministerial level and the signing of a memorandum on cooperation in the field of defence should contribute to it.
It was noted that there was great potential for cooperation between intelligence and security agencies, as well as the intensification of military economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
The defence minister also stressed the importance of the recent signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Military Archives and Yad Vashem – The World Holocaust Remembrance Center
Djordjevic expressed his gratitude for the principled support of Israel in defence of the principles of international law in preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as the significant contribution to the relation between the two countries which Ambassador Levi gave during his term of office in Belgrade.
