Minister of Defence with the Ambassador of Pakistan




Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic talked with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Mahmood about the enhancement of the defence cooperation.

Djordjevic pointed out that cooperation should be developed primarily in the fields of military economy and military education, as well as through exchange of experience in training for participation in multinational operations and the establishment of cooperation between the centres for peacekeeping operations. He proposed also establishment of cooperation between the services in the intelligence and security sector, due to illegal migration and transnational terrorist threats.

Mahmud and Djordjevic discussed possible participation of the Ministry of Defence on the 9th International Exhibition and Seminar IDEAS 2016, to be held in November in Karachi.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Arif Mahmood gave Minister Djordjevic a letter of invitation for an official visit to Islamabad.
