Pupils master shooting skills at the Military Academy

In the shooting alley of the military academy in Banjica, 47 boys and girls will be attending the school of shooting from 5 to 25 January. During the winter holiday, the pupils of Belgrade elementary schools will be able to take part in educational programs and workshops, sports programs and camps organized by the Ministry for Sports the City of Belgrade and the City Secretariat for Sports and Youth.

The president of the Shooting Club “Akademac” Colonel Matija Grgic, MSc says that the Military Academy was elected the organizer ina competition held in October last year. In his words this is the first activity organized by the academy in 20 years which is another step towards approximating themselves to Serbian citizens. The capacitates are limited, despite a large interest shown by boys and girls in Belgrade, and three times a day one- hour lessons are held for the groups of 10.

Besides Colonel Grgic, Lt. Col. Istvan Poljanac is also working with the pupils, as the attendants of the course will be able to master the skills of aiming, firing, and positioning, as well as safety measures which have to taken in a shooting field.

In the opinion of the organizer, this school might very well point to new talents in a sports discipline which had brought Serbia many medals and acknowledgments. The most successful course attendants, a girl and a boy from elementary and secondary schools, will be awarded “good” and “excellent” shooter medals.
