Gun salute on the occasion of the Victory Day





The first of 10 thunderous volleys in honour of the victory in the Second World War echoed from the Kalemegdan fortress today at exactly 5 pm. The day before the feast, members of Serbian Armed Forces Guard firedthe honorary ten salvos from six artillery pieces. Beatsof the anthem "God of Justice" which was performed by the Representative Orchestra of the Guard and raising the state flag of the Republic of Serbia were the introduction to this traditional state honour.

The order of the President of the Republic of Serbia TomislavNikolic was read by the battalion commander of the Guard Battalion Major Marko Marjanovic and honour to command the fire was given to Captain MicaZivkovic.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Lieutenant GeneralJovicaDraganic, deputy commander of the Guard Colonel ZeljkoGavrilovic and numerous citizens.
