In the barracks "Nikola Pasic" in Zajecar today around 13 o'clock, Sergeant First Class Sasa Nikolov committed suicide.

By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zajecar, authorities of the Ministry of Interior and Military Police are determining the circumstances of the emergency.

Sergeant First Class Sasa Nikolov was born in Dimitrovgrad on 18 April 1983. He was in the professional military service since 2003. He served as a company leader in the 1st Infantry Company of the 31st Infantry Battalion of the 3rd Army brigade. Sergeant Nikolov was married and the father of two children.

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and SAF Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic conveyed their condolences to the family of the deceased member of the Armed Forces.
