Defence Minister congratulates the Day of the Music Service



To all members of the Music Service I congratulate 10 January - Day of Service.

This year for the first time in the recent history of our army, as one of the military holidays, in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Day of the Music Service has been established to commemorate this day in 1845 when the Army Law stipulated that the military band consisted of 50 musicians. Continuing a tradition of more than a century and a half, members of the music service have followed the continuous artistic tradition of preserving and nurturing the soldiers' songs and other musical forms.

Military musicians and orchestras occupy an important place in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. With the choice of a good repertoire, they have an indisputable effect in creating a system of values and tastes of the audience of the military population, and the general public alike. In the past period, in a dignified way, they have presented the artistic being of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and affirmed themselves as a quality musical collective. Military orchestras are a true indication of the value of military heritage in this area.

I congratulate you on your holiday, and wish you to professionally conduct the assigned tasks, improve the work in your service and achieve successful results, which will contribute to the development of culture and traditions and the building of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence as a whole.
