Seeing off peacekeepers to the �INUSCA SRBCON-3 mission



Today, in the premises of the General Staff of Serbia, a ceremonial seeing off was organized for the third rotation of the Serbian contingent to the mission MINUSCA SRBCON - 3 in the Central African Republic.

Head of the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations Colonel Milivoje Pajovic reminded the guests that in 2015 the Serbian Armed Forces, with more than 600 members took part in 11 missions - seven missions of the United Nations and four of the European Union.

Colonel Pajovic presented the data about on all that our peacekeepers had done in previous rotations in the Central African Republic in the military hospital.

- In the laboratory, they have conducted more than 30,000 laboratory tests, radiologists have done more than 4,000 tests for the Military Hospital, dentists have conducted more than 800 examinations and interventions, surgeons have conducted more than 70 surgical interventions, in the ICU, there have been 68 members of the MINUSCA mission who were in a critical condition, more than 800 patients from more than 60 countries have been in the hospital, the internal department has conducted 1,000 examinations and interventions, and through the admission and triage ward of the hospital in total more than 10,000 patients from 116 countries have passed.

68 members of the Serbian contingent will set off on the way to Bangui, to the heart of the African continent. The contingent is composed of units for logistics, Military Hospital level 2, which is the main force of the contingent, and the three-member command.

Contingent commander is Colonel Nikola Dejanovic, Deputy Head of the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations, commander of the military hospital is Lt. Col. Nemanja Borovcanin, and head nurse at the military hospital is Zeljka Ostojic.

The ceremonial seeing off of peacekeepers was attended by Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, relatives and friends of peacekeepers.

At the end of the seeing off, Defence Minister presented the flag of the Republic of Serbia to contingent commander of the mission Colonel Nikola Dejanovic.
