Results of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in 2015
Public Relations Department presented at the traditional New Year's reception for media representatives the results of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in 2015. The film and the brochure, which were handed out to journalists, highlight the most important activities to which, during the year, members of the Ministry and the Armed Forces dedicated their work, commitment, knowledge and willingness to always and under all conditions serve Serbia and be with their people.
The most important fields in which the achievements in 2015 are demonstrated strengthening of the operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, exercises of national and multinational character, deployment in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the United Nations and the European Union, the development and modernization of arms and military equipment and the results of defence industry companies and their export performance.
Notable results were also achieved in the reconstruction of war and peacetime reserves, renovation of numerous military facilities, training fields and shooting ranges, and the army returned to barracks in Zrenjanin and Pozega. The response of young people for voluntary military service is growing from year to year, as well as the number of applicants in military schools.
Financial discipline and austerity measures have given significant results, which made it possible to increase funding for subsidized housing loans for members of the Armed Forces and for resolving housing issues.
Ambitiously and with numerous plans, we enter into the new year of 2016. The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces remain committed to their missions, with the desire to achieve even greater results in strengthening defence capabilities, contributions to world peace and helping the people whenever necessary.
