New Year's concert of the Art Ensemble "Stanislav Binicki"

The Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki" held tonight at the Belgrade Trade Union Hall the New Year’s gala concert entitled "On the Beautiful Blue Danube." The festive music program was attended by Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic with members of the Collegium, Secretaries of State in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic and Nenad Neric, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, many public figures and admirers of classical music.

Members of the Ensemble "Stanislav Binicki", under the baton of Vojkan Borisavljevic, performed works by Johann Strauss, Gioacchino Rossini, Georges Bizet, Robert Schumann, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Vojkan Borisavljevic and many others. The evening was enriched with the performances of opera greats Jadranka Jovanovic, Oliver Njego, Dejan Maksimovic, Nevena Matic, Dragutin Matic and Olivera Mercurio, which arrived from Italy for this occasion.

The violins were, among others, played by Edit Makedonska and Uros Kovandzic, flute by Mirjana Vukadinovic, oboe by Viktor Isakovic, clarinet by Dusko Stamenkovic, trumpet by Nenad Ninkovic and trombone by Nikola Zivkovic.

The history and tradition of the Art Ensemble "Stanislav Binicki" have lasted for three centuries and today’s event was a worthy way to promote, above all, the cultural treasures of the region, but also international music. It has participated in numerous ceremonies and festivals at home and abroad, with constant cooperation with big names in the local and international music scene.
