Congratulations by the President of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the Day of Air Force and Air Defence



I congratulate all the members of the Air Force and Air Defence on 24th December – the Day of the Branch.

You are properly implementing the modern and newly created traditional values in the tradition of your branch which you have been fostering and developing for more than a century.

In the previous period you fully accomplished the tasks of control and protection of the sovereignty of the air space of the Republic of Serbia and greatly contributed to building and preserving peace both within the region and beyond on the European level. I am confident that you will develop the operational capability of your branch, successfully complete the reforms, contributing to further reorganization of the Armed Forces. Units of the Air Force and Air Defence realize the set tasks, attach a great importance to training of pilots and achieve tangible results in professional training and qualifying of their members. Superior performance of tasks in exercises both in the country and abroad in the previous year provided you an equal place among the most modern elements of foreign armies.

In accordance with the objective possibilities you should streamline and modernise units of the Air Force and Air Defence, which is a prerequisite for good operational and functional capability of this branch of the Serbian Armed Forces.

I am sure that in the forthcoming period you will continue to professionally perform the set tasks. With the desire that you continue to be actively involved in both the process of reorganization of the Armed Forces and the new security trends in the country and the region, I congratulate you on your holiday.
