Enhancing cooperation with China

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and Chinese Ambassador Li Manchang discussed the possibilities for enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries. It was noted that the cooperation in this field follows the overall good relations between the two countries, but also that there is room for its enhancement in the military economic field.

At the meeting there was a discussion about the possibilities for investments by Chinese companies in the sector of the Serbian defence industry.

Minister Gasic thanked for assistance through many military grants provided by the People's Republic of China to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, including the latest donation of 7 million Yuan (about one million euros).

The People's Republic of China is our strategic partner and one of the most trusted friends of the Republic of Serbia, as evidenced by its principled support to the Serbian efforts to resolve the situation in Kosovo and Metohija by peaceful means and diplomatic efforts, Gasic emphasized, adding that the friendship between the two countries was confirmed also by the participation of our soldiers in the parade in Beijing.
