Telephone conversation between the Chief of Staff and KFOR Commander



Concerning the armed attacks on Serbs in Gorazdevac and the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic called today KFOR Commander Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta. Expressing concern about the possibility that these were organized attacks, General Dikovic said that these attacks are causing uncertainty and unrest among the Serbs and other citizens in Kosovo and Metohija.

General Dikovic asked KFOR to pay more attention, not only to Gorazdevac, but also to all other cities and municipalities in which the majority is non-Albanian population, for the safety of citizens in Kosovo and Metohija. General Dikovic reiterated that KFOR is the only guarantor of security in Kosovo and Metohija, in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council.

General Miglietta said that the investigation of the incident in Gorazdevac is in progress, and that KFOR has reinforced its presence in the village. He stressed that KFOR will protect the entire population in Kosovo and Metohija.

Dikovic and Miglietta also spoke about the joint exercise of medical evacuation of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR, whose realization has been postponed due to weather conditions. They expressed confidence that the exercise will be held in the future.
