Minister Gasic spoke with the President of Slovenia



On the second day of the visit to the Republic of Slovenia, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic met with Slovenian President Borut Pahor.

Gasic and Pahor agreed that the complex security situation in the world and the region imposes the necessity of closer cooperation between countries. In this regard, the intensification of defence cooperation has an important place, particularly through cooperation in intelligence and security sector.

President Pahor congratulated the announced opening of the first chapters by the end of the year in the process of Serbia's accession to the European Union and reiterated the support and willingness of Slovenia to provide assistance.

Minister Gasic thanked for the continuous support of Slovenia in the European integration process. The opening of the chapters is a confirmation that the European Union recognizes the visible results of the Serbian Government, particularly in the field of economic reforms, harmonization of legislation, contribution to regional stability and improvement of the international position of the country.

At the end of his official visit to Slovenia, Minister Gasic visited the 132nd Mountain Regiment of the Slovenian Armed Forces.
