Agreement on procurement of new trucks signed with FAP
In the presence of Minister of Defence of Bratislav Gasic, today, in the Priboj truck factory FAP, a contract was signed on purchase of ten new trucks for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces between the Ministry of Defence and the company, worth 112.2 million dinars. On behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the contract was signed with Director of FAP Zoran Zakovic by Colonel Aleksandar Bukvic. From the Priboj giant, four FAP 1118 trucks were taken today, which was previously contracted, and they will be deployed in Central Logistics Base of the Serbian Armed Forces.
- Priboj, and FAP are strategically important for Serbia and the goal of the state is to preserve the production capacity of FAP, to the extent possible, in accordance with the law. In addition to signing of the contract, today we also talked about the business plan that the management of FAP should make with the Sector for Material Resources of the Ministry of Defence for the overhaul of military trucks - Minister Gasic said.
He added that the idea of the business plan is for a part of the capacity and workers of FAP is separated and, with economic sustainability, redirected to the overhaul of FAP trucks which are already in use in units of the Serbian Armed Forces. He appealed to the management of FAP to promptly prepare a study on the overhaul of the trucks, so this would be one of the main arguments and a starting document for further cooperation. Minister pointed out that the quality will be the priority in the overhaul as well, and not the time in which the work can be done.
Minister Gasic announced that, in addition to the present 112.2 million dinars, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will allocate new resources for the next year, noting that the goal of the defence system is to obtain equipment from domestic capacities.
Responding to reporters' questions about the security of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Minister pointed out that the same persons from the political, criminal, tycoon, and media sphere from the time of the murder of Prime Minister Djindjic are still present in the Serbian scene.
- The Serbian Armed Forces is responsible for the security of the Prime Minister and it is absolutely ready to respond to all threats and security risks that could in any way threaten the Prime Minister. The Armed Forces is ready to save his life - Minister Gasic said, stressing that the assessment of the security services indicate that, at this moment, the person that is in greatest danger in Serbia is Prime Minister Vucic.
