Minister Gasic met with representatives of military unions

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and his associates met today with representatives of eight out of ten registered labour unions in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

Gasic introduced the participants with the results and activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces undertaken to improve the conditions of life and work of MoD and SAF members.

The meeting also concluded that direct communication, maintaining regular contacts and joint meetings of the relevant MoD staff and the representatives of all registered military unions is the only way to resolve all outstanding issues.

The information that the Minister and his closest associates presented at the meeting, assured the union representatives that much of the data transmitted in the media does not correspond to the actual situation, that is, the efforts that the Ministry of Defence is taking to improve the conditions for life and work of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The details and doubts in connection with the procurement of military uniforms were clarified to the union representatives, and both sides agreed that this process is in accordance with regulations. Also, they talked about the issue of army boots, which was the subject of a recent announcement of the Military Union of Serbia and all doubts concerning this issue were cleared.

Minister of trade union representatives went to regular meetings with the most responsible representatives of the General Staff. He noted that incorporates all the unions in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and confirmed that he will be very happy to meet with them periodically.
